New trailers and updates for upcoming films
Billy Lynn’s long slide from Oscar contentionWhen it premiered at the New York Film Festival, Ang Lee’s 3D, 120fps, 4K adaptation of Ben Fountain’s novel Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk received a mixed reaction. Some critics faulted Lee’s decision to film a character study with new technology. Others faulted the narrative. Viewers will get to decide for themselves when the film begins its release on November 11th before expanding nationwide on the 18th, but only two theaters in the U.S. will be equipped to handle the special presentation, so general opinions on the boundary-pushing technology will have to wait. Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk stars newcomer Joe Alwyn as a war hero whose story is told through flashbacks during the halftime show of a Thanksgiving Day football game. The supporting cast includes Kristen Stewart, Vin Diesel, Steve Martin, Chris Tucker, and Garrett Hedlund. |
Rules Don’t Apply
Warren Beatty’s first film as writer-director since 1998’s Bulworth is a romantic comedy starring Lily Collins as contract actress Marla Mabrey and future Han Solo Alden Ehrenreich as Howard Hughes’ driver Frank Forbes. Rules Don’t Apply hits theaters November 23rd after a debut at AFI Fest on November 10th.

His 23 personalities have been kept in check, but a 24th is about to threaten the lives of three teenage girls—Anya Taylor-Joy of The Witch, Haley Lu Richardson, and Jessica Sula.
Neruda
Many expect Pablo Larrain’s Jackie to vie for Oscar gold in the Lead Actress category, but he has another unique biopic coming out this year— Neruda—and it has been submitted by Chile to compete to be nominated in the Best Foreign Language Film category. Coming to select theaters December 16th, the film follows poet Pablo Neruda (Luis Gnecco) in post-WWII Chile as he’s hounded by a persistent police inspector played by Gael García Bernal.
Man Down
Shia LaBeouf stars as Gabriel Drummer, an American soldier who returns home from war only to find that his wife (Kate Mara) and son (Charlie Shotwell) have disappeared. Come and Find Me
In this dramatic thriller, the idyllic relationship between David (Aaron Paul) and Claire (Annabelle Wallis) comes to a mysterious end when Claire suddenly disappears. Unable to let her go, David searches for answers, discovering clues of Claire’s hidden past. Come and Find Me, writer Zack Whedon’s directorial debut, comes to theaters and On Demand November 11th.
Dreamland
Directed by Rooney frontman (and brother of Jason Schwartzman) Robert Schwartzman, Dreamland follows Monty Fagan, a naive piano teacher played by Johnny Simmons, as he struggles to get his life in order and falls for a wealthy married woman played by Amy Landecker. With a supporting cast that includes Beverly D’Angelo, Frankie Shaw, Nick Thune, and Shay Mitchel, this debut feature hits select theaters and On Demand November 11th.
