Warning: this article contains spoilers for Wonder Woman #11!

Wonder Woman has already had a rough time of it during DC Rebirth, first learning that she has a long-lost twin brother and then discovering that some unseen force has been manipulating her life and deceiving her. And just when things started looking up in this issue, Diana was dealt another crushing blow.

Issue #11 marked the conclusion of the story arc "The Lies," with Diana finally succeeding in returning to Paradise Island and reuniting with her fellow Amazons. However, both she and Steve Trevor could sense that something wasn"t quite right about their surroundings.

Once Steve removed Diana"s trademark silver bracers, the illusion began to fade and Paradise Island vanished. Worse, Diana came to the realization that she"s never actually returned home since first leaving Paradise Island with Steve Trevor all those years ago. Whatever mysterious enemy that"s been manipulating her life has been doing so as long as Wonder Woman has existed. And apparently they"ve been using her own weapons against her.

This twist calls into question just how much of Wonder Woman"s history has been a fabrication. It would seem that her New 52 adventures, at least, have been wiped off the board. But who"s been deceiving her, and to what end? Is this part of Doctor Manhattan"s larger experiments with the DC Universe?

Let us know what you think of this latest Wonder Woman twist in the comments below.
