Ditto, one of the few Pokemon from the original 151 not to be initially included in Pokemon Go, is now catchable in Niantic Labs" mobile game according to multiple reports.

Game Informer has confirmed the Pokemon"s appearance in the game, having caught a Pidgey, which subsequently transformed into the Ditto after capture. For more on how to snag a Ditto, check out IGN"s Pokemon Go guide.

Players have been reporting that commonly appearing creatures like Rattata, Pidgey, Magikarp, and Zubat, can all possibly reveal themselves as a disguised Ditto.

Dataminers The Silph Road, who initially reported that Ditto"s signature move Transform appeared in the game"s data accompanied by an animation for the move, suggest that "seemingly any Pokemon can now transform into Ditto," with the undercover Ditto able to use any of that Pokemon"s moves in battle.

IGN has reached out to Niantic Labs for more details on Ditto"s appearance in the game and will update this story should we hear back from them.

Ditto was the only Pokemon other than Legendaries Articuno, Zapdos, Moltres, Mewtwo, and Mew from the first generation of Pokemon not to be included in Go from its launch earlier this year.

And in additional updates to the app, Niantic revealed that the Nearby feature, which was originally being tested only in San Francisco. It is now available in the following areas:

  • United States of America: All states west of the Mississippi River (except Hawaii and Alaska)
  • Canada: British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and the western half of Ontario.
  • Australia: All states and territories

Nearby will now only show up if a PokeStop is close by, while changes to Sightings have also been made.

Pokemon Go is seeing some balance changes for the combat power of certain Pokemon, while the game will offer double experience and Stardust from November 23 through November 30.
