Creative Team: Saladin Ahmed & Christian Ward

Release Date: Spring 2017

As revealed by io9, novelist and comic book newcomer Saladin Ahmed and ODY-C artist Christian Ward will be teaming for a solo series focused on the former king of the Inhumans, Black Bolt. The series will open with Balck Bolt trapped in prison, and Ahmed hinted that he may be partnered with the Absorbing Man during the course of his travels.

it’s a story of a King, kind of discovering humility and also a nobility in people he was ready to write off." Saladin told io9. "It’s a book about, nobility and power, and about your rank in the world. That’s for this arc, specifically. Now, further down the line, I think there’s a lot of stuff to explore with the question of the Inhumans and separatism vs integration—maybe even some questions of culture and immigration, when you have this question of the old world and the new world and all these things that are happening [to them]."

The Royals

Creative Team: Al Ewing & Jonboy Meyers

Release Date: April 2017

We recently had the scoop on this new series, which will focus on the Inhuman Royal Family as they journey away from Earth and into space to discover the secrets of Terrigenesis. The series will be written by Al Ewing (The Ultimates) and drawn by Jonboy Meyers (Teen Titans).

“It"s not the first time the Royals have been to space, admittedly, but I promise they"ve never been this far out before. I wanted to create a myth from the future, a quest to find answers and meaning in the face of extinction,” Ewing told us. “In some ways, this is similar to my run on [Loki: Agent of Asgard], the thing that"ll let me explore ideas of myth and metaphor, that"ll allow me to play around on a grand tapestry. And the further out I get, the bigger I can go. I want to take this book to a place where Marvel-Earth -- the Marvel Galaxy -- isn"t even a speck in the sky.”
