What To Watch This Weekend: League of Legends, Hearthstone, and FIFA 17

The League of Legends Mid-Season Invitational season finally comes to a close, Evo goes to Japan for a prelude tournament and FIFA crowns its esports champion this week. Meanwhile, I think it"s raining everywhere, even Florida.

The Hearthstone Championship Tour"s European playoffs are this weekend, which means you"ll be able to see the latest developments in the meta that have arisen from the game"s latest Year of the Mammoth set play out. (Stream / Schedule)

The Evolution Championship Series is having its first Japanese event this year, and a lead-up tournament, Sai, is this weekend. Sai will feature Street Fighter V, Guilty Gear Xrd REV 2, Tekken 7, and more. While most of the event is in Japanese, Western viewers will be able to listen to English commentary. (Stream / Schedule via Twitter user @AceKingOffSuit). We also have several other fighting game events this weekend, including The Saigon Cup (Stream / Schedule), Canada"s Toryuken (Streams and Schedule), and Germany"s FFM Rumble (Stream / Schedule).

For some dedicated Super Smash Bros. For Wii U action, check out 2GGC"s Greninja Saga, which will have major players like Zero and Ally in attendance. (Streams and Schedule)

The Dota 2 Starladder I-League"s second invitational tournament pits teams like Team Liquid, Newbee, and Invictus against each other for a shot at the $45,000 first-place prize. (Stream / Schedule)

The FIFA 17 Ultimate Team Championships will see the game"s top players battle it out in Berlin for the $400,000 first-place prize. (Stream)

UMG is hosting a Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare open tournament  in Orlando, so if you"re looking to get away from the rainy weather, you can watch people play inside stadiums where... it"s also cloudy in Florida. Damn it! (Stream)

If you"re looking for some Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, you can watch the closed qualifiers for July"s ESL tournament in Cologne, which will offer a $250,000 prize pool. (Stream)

Vainglory is having its Western Unified Championship this weekend, so if you"ve ever been curious about the mobile MOBA, here"s your chance to catch some high-level action. (Stream)

That"s it for this weekend! Let us know if we missed an event, or if there"s a scene you"d like us to keep up with. Have a great weekend!
