Man At Arms Forges Real-Life Replicas Of For Honor"s Weapons

Ubisoft"s For Honor released this past week. The game"s unique world where samurais, knights, and vikings collide makes for a mix of interesting close-combat weapons. YouTube show Man At Arms: Reforged, a video series that builds replicas of pop-culture weapons, has recently teamed up with Ubisoft to forge real-life versions of For Honor"s Viking Dane Axe and Nodachi Sword.

The Viking Dane Axe is wielded by the Raider faction of vikings, and the katana-style blade the Nodachi Sword is used by the Kensei samurai faction.

The Dane Axe is a two-handed weapon that is both massive and deadly. In the video below, the Man at Arms team shows how it can easily break apart a cement block. The Nodachi Sword is a narrow but long blade, and Man at Arms puts an incredible amount of detail in its creation. For example, the team smears clay delicately on the blade to prevent chipping during combat.

Check out the videos for yourself below.

Man At Arms has forged several other impressive video game weapons, such as the Greatsword Of Artorias from Dark Souls and the iron helmet from Skyrim. You can also read our favorable review of For Honor by heading here.

Report: Eshop Purchases Tied To Online Account On Switch

Nintendo and online services haven"t mixed well. One issue the company"s systems have had for a while is locking digital purchases to the console where they were made, which made transferring games a difficult process (especially with all the hardware iteration Nintendo does on its handhelds). But, if recent reports are anything to go by, the Switch may be bucking that particular trend.

A NeoGAF user recently who received their Switch early has posted an image of a message he found while perusing their new console.

"Your Nintendo Account contains your Nintendo eShop purchase history and current balance," the statements reads. "By re-linking your Nintendo Account after initializing the console, it will be possible to redownload any software or DLC purchased using that account. (Software that has been discontinued may not be available for redownload in some cases.)"

If the image is indeed accurate, this could mean we"ll finally be able to transfer games from one Switch to the next without the need for a convoluted process (as is the case on the 3DS). We"ve reached out to Nintendo to confirm whether this is the case and will update this story should we hear back.

[Source: NintendoLife]

Our Take
There"s probably a lot to say about how this could be indicative of a new online strategy from Nintendo and how the company might finally be listening to fans and blah blah blah, but how"d that person get a Switch so damn early, huh? Where"s mine!?

Watch Street Fighter"s Ryu Hop A Toyota C-HR Over M.Bison"s Psycho Crusher

Cars and retro-style games are... a perfect match, I guess? Last year Nintendo partnered with Mercedes-Benz to add the GLA to Super Mario Maker, and Toyota saw that and said, I"d imagine, "Nope. Check this out."

What we get is Ryu driving the new Toyota C-HR around the world, starting in Japan, then driving across the Atlantic Ocean(!?) to the United States, then back to India, and a few other locales. He does take a pit stop to beat M. Bison while inside the car, the optional features of which include, from what this realistic ad tells us, a laser cannon.

Are you buying this car or what?

Our Take
That was sick as heck. Dang!

Report: Nioh Updates Introduce Hard Missions & PvP

Koei Tecmo has revealed some info in Japan about updates to Nioh that add harder missions as well as PvP to the action title.

The more difficult missions are coming in late March, with the PvP following in late April.

For more on the game, check out Dan Tack"s review as well as his handy guide.

Our Take
For a game that"s already known for being merciless, it"ll be interesting to see exactly in what way the March missions will make things even more difficult.

YouTuber Builds Lego Version Of Widowmaker"s Sniper Rifle From Overwatch

YouTuber ZaziNombies, known for his Lego creations inspired by video games, has dedicated his latest project to building Widowmaker"s sniper rifle from Overwatch.

The French, villainous Widowmaker is best known for perfecting her kill shots and finding the best vantage points to take out her foes from afar. While it doesn"t fire anything, ZaziNombies" replica has "realistic reload action" and the design, such as the translucent red scope, is made to look as similar as possible to the original. The replica measures four feet long, and is made with an estimated 1,800 Lego bricks.

This isn"t the first time ZaziNombies created a Lego weapon inspired by Overwatch. Check out his Lego creation of Reaper"s shotguns here.

Reader Discussion – Who Is Your Favorite Video Game Character Of All Time?

Some video game characters can resonate more strongly with you than others. Maybe it"s because they were a solid lead, relatable, or had personality traits that you admire. Games can speak to us on an intimate level that can create a strong connection to these fictional beings, and it"s one of my favorite things about interactive experiences.

With that said, who is your favorite video game character? Did this character do or say something you admire?

Ellie from The Last of Us absolutely had a lasting effect on me, probably because I felt like I identified with her. She"s strong willed and is able to overcome a tough past by bonding with Joel, even if it starts off rocky. Thane from the Mass Effect series also stands out to me, mostly because he was incredibly intriguing from the get-go. There is an interesting contrast to his personality; he is a badass assassin while also remaining incredibly zen through his spirituality.

Which fictional character from games do you most admire? In contrast, is there a character that you felt a disconnect with for one reason or another? Let us know in the comments below!

Report: Nintendo Switch Consoles Stolen From US Distributor, Featured In Leaked Videos

A series of recent leaked videos have shown off Nintendo Switch consoles in the wild before the official release this March. According to IGN, these units were stolen by employees of a U.S. distributor and then illegally resold. The videos, which were posted on YouTube and NeoGAF, gave an overview of the Switch"s menu screens, storage space, and UI.

NeoGAF user hiphoptherobot wrote in a post that he was "lucky" when he thought his retailer shipped him his pre-ordered Switch early. According to Nintendo, however, this unit was one of the several consoles that were stolen in an "isolated incident." The U.S. distributor remains unnamed. You can view Nintendo"s full statement to IGN below:

Earlier this week, individuals claimed to prematurely purchase a small number of Nintendo Switch systems from an unspecified retailer. Nintendo has determined these units were stolen in an isolated incident by employees of a U.S. distributor, with one system being illegally resold. The individuals involved have been identified, terminated from their place of employment and are under investigation by local law enforcement authorities on criminal charges. Nintendo Switch will launch worldwide on March 3, 2017, and we look forward to everyone being able to discover the wonders of the new system for themselves at that time.

Although these videos are leaked, they show off some interesting tidbits of information for the upcoming console. The video from hiphoptherobot shows several features, including the account creation process in order to create a new user on the system, customization options, and storage. For example, the Switch"s internal storage is apparently limited to 25.9 GB.

According to Kotaku, user hiphoptherobot sent back his system to Nintendo after learning that it was stolen from whomever he bought it from.

You can view the video for yourself below, though it may not be available for long.

As it says in the above statement from Nintendo, the individuals who committed theft have been "identified, terminated from their place of employment and are under investigation by local law enforcement authorities on criminal charges."

We have reached out to Nintendo for further comment, and will update this article should we hear back. The Nintendo Switch releases on March 3. Check out the full list of announced Switch titles here, and also read about how eShop purchases will be tied to an online account on the Switch.

Our Take
We"ve known so little about Nintendo Switch"s hardware, that leaks seem inevitable. Fans have been eager to hear more about it despite its release in just two weeks time, and many would prefer to hear more about the console from Nintendo itself. However, these thefts are a blow to Nintendo, and it"s good to hear that the perpetrators have been identified and are facing consequences.

The video from hiphoptherobot shows several features, including the account creation process in order to create a new user on the system, customization options, and storage. For example, the Switch’s internal storage is apparently limited to 25.9 GB.

According to Kotaku, user hiphoptherobot sent back his system to Nintendo after learning that it was stolen from whomever he bought it from.

You can view the video for yourself below, though it may not be available for long.

As it says in the above statement from Nintendo, the individuals who committed theft have been “identified, terminated from their place of employment and are under investigation by local law enforcement authorities on criminal charges.”

We have reached out to Nintendo for further comment, and will update this article should we hear back. The Nintendo Switch releases on March 3. Check out the full list of announced Switch titles here, and also read about how eShop purchases will be tied to an online account on the Switch.

Our Take
We’ve known so little about Nintendo Switch’s hardware, that leaks seem inevitable. Fans have been eager to hear more about it despite its release in just two weeks time, and many would prefer to hear more about the console from Nintendo itself. However, these thefts are a blow to Nintendo, and it’s good to hear that the perpetrators have been identified and are facing consequences.

Our Take
There"s probably a lot to say about how this could be indicative of a new online strategy from Nintendo and how the company might finally be listening to fans and blah blah blah, but how"d that person get a Switch so damn early, huh?

Dang!

Nintendo Reveals Digital File Sizes For Select Switch Titles

Nintendo"s Japanese Switch website has revealed the digital file sizes of some of Switch"s titles, including one that already requires its own SD card.

The console has 32GB of internal storage (not including the footprint of the OS), so if you want to buy any games digitally,* you"ll either have to make sure they fit on the system or buy a separate SD card for your purchases. The Switch supports large-sized SD cards, although these could run you a lot of money.

  • The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild – 13.4GB

  • Mario Kart 8 Deluxe – 7+GB

  • Puyo Puyo Tetris – 1.09GB

  • Disgaea 5 – 5.92GB

  • Snipperclips – 1.60GB

  • I Am Setsuna – 1.4GB

  • Dragon Quest Heroes I & II – 32GB

  • Nobunaga"s Amibition – 5GB

*Of course, if you plan on buying these or any other Switch games in their traditional boxed form on their own cards, you won"t have to worry about file sizes since unlike the PS4 and Xbox One, the Switch does not require that its titles be downloaded from the actual card.

[Source: Nintendo]

Our Take
As my 1TB hard drive I installed on my PS4 fills up, I appreciate Nintendo not requiring that even titles bought in physical form require a full install (and most games" smaller file sizes). However, the possibility of having to buy a separate SD card that could run over $100 easily (depending on its size) just to buy games digitally is ridiculous.

For more of ZaziNombies" creations, take a look at his YouTube channel. His past works include building replicas for Doom"s BFG 9000 and Claptrap from Borderlands
