Destiny 2"s First Raid Has A Surprisingly Reasonable Power Range

It seems exceedingly unlikely that Destiny 2 players are reading this because they"re playing Destiny 2, but in the off-chance some are, director Luke Smith has confirmed that the first Raid will have a Power range of 260-280.

The initial spitballing from Bungie on the subject of Power had been somewhere between 280-300, so the lower range means players at 280 Power will have the ideal Power for the Raid.

The Raid launches on Wednesday, September 13, so players have about one day from the writing of this post to get in gear for the big event.

New Game, Sky, From Thatgamecompany Announced For Apple TV, iPad, & iPhone

At Apple"s major 2017 public conference, the house that Steve Jobs built brought out Jenova Chen, creator of games like Flower and Journey, to show off his new game titled Sky.

The game is a multiplayer title that bears more than a slight resemblance to Journey, but in the sky. Players meet up, complete objectives, or surf around the sky in beautiful environments on their own.

Sky has simplified inputs to allow for touch controls, with the touchpad on the Apple TV remote functioning as the controller for the game. Check out the trailer below and let us know what you think of Jenova Chen"s newest wild ride.

iPhone 8 And iPhone X Revealed By Apple For 2017

Today, Apple has revealed two new iPhones to release this year at different times. The iPhone 8 and the iPhone X (read as the number ten) will be available September 22 and November 3, respectively.

The iPhone 8, which comes in both regular and Plus variations, looks to be a fairly incremental successor to last year"s iPhone 7. It outperforms the former phone in every way and has returned to the heady days of glass backs, but otherwise looks and acts very similarly to the previous iPhone model.

The iPhone X has all of the iPhone 8"s features, as well as a better camera, a 5.8-inch edge-to-edge screen, and new methods of interaction to work around the missing Home button.

Both phones include new-to-iPhone features like wireless charging, augmented reality, and real-time lighting calculations while taking photos.

Apple is also axing the 32GB and 128GB versions for each phone and is offering them only at 64GB and 256GB. The iPhone 8 starts at $699 ($799 for the Plus) and the iPhone X at $999.

Update: J.J. Abrams Returns To Write And Direct Star Wars: Episode IX

Lucasfilm"s plan to have different writers and directors attached to each of its numbered Star Wars sequels didn"t go according to plan. J.J. Abrams is replacing Colin Trevorrow as the director and co-writer of Star Wars: Episode IX, slated to release on May 24, 2019. Abrams was the guiding voice that helped reboot the Star Wars franchise with the release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens in 2015.

Abrams is joined by writer Chris Terrio, who wrote the screenplays for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Justice League, and Argo. Fans hoped Rian Johnson would extend his stay at Lucasfilm after finishing up Star Wars: The Last Jedi, but getting Abrams to come back is even better news at this point, as we know what kind of Star Wars movie he will make, whereas Johnson is still an unknown (albeit talented) quantity in this beloved universe.

Production of Episode IX was originally slated to begin in February 2018, but with Trevorrow leaving that timeline may be moved back to give Abrams and Terrio time to dream up the final chapter of Rey and Kylo Ren"s story.

UPDATE: Destiny 2 Texture That Bears Resemblance To Hate Symbol Is Being Removed

ORIGINAL STORY: The Road Complex AA1 gauntlets, a legendary item in Destiny 2, was discovered to bear a slightly tweaked logo that bears a resemblance to a hate symbol. Bungie has been made aware of the issue and is moving to get it removed.

The logo, which looks disturbingly like the hate symbol for "Kekistan," was discovered this morning by Waypoint, who then reached out to Activision and Bungie about the issue. Unless Bungie comes out and explains how it got into the game, it is unlikely the public will ever know.

The "Kekistan" flag resembles the Nazi third reich flag and emerged from online image boards. Popular white supremacists have used the logo during marches, which muddies the original intent as an admittedly off-color joke.

Bungie has explained that it was not intentional and they renounce hate.

Kaz Hirai Parody Twitter Is Retiring In 2018

KazHiraiCEO, an account that parodies Sony"s President and CEO with jokes about the game industry, has announced their retirement in 2018.

While it may seem odd to announce the retirement of a Twitter account, and even odder to report on one, the parody account boasts 100,000 followers, including Sony executives (and with occasional mention by Hirai himself). The account will be sorely missed.

It seems like the best way to celebrate the account is to post some of its best jokes.

The account intends to finish off after E3 2018, so we should all hope that next year"s E3 is incredibly hilarious.

Check Out These Fallout And Bioshock Statues Coming Soon

Toyark is reporting that statues of Fallout"s T-60 Power Armor and Bioshock"s Big Daddy (with, of course, a Little Sister) are soon coming out to customers on September 22 for the Power Armor and 2018 for the Big Daddy.

The Power Armor measures 9" tall on its base and weighs a surprisingly light 1.3 lbs. The statues itself was modeled using the 3D models from the games to ensure no details were lost in the conversion.

The Big Daddy statue tall at 12.5" and contains 35 points of articulation, so you can pose Rapture"s misguided guardian alongside his ADAM collector in almost any way you see fit.

The Bioshock statue will run you $280, but the Fallout Power Armor can be found for $40 at ThinkGeek or Bethesda"s store. Check out the pictures below and click the links above for more.
